Odd Re-Booting Behavior ....... ?

Seemsas though out of the blue, my slackware curret machine will re-boot without reason. I have enabled graphic login, and it seems that randomly, usually after locking the desktop, I return to the login screen once again. (?)

I am assuming at this point, my system has re-booted, unless after a certain (unknown) amount of time a "locked screen" returns to user login. I am using KDE in runlevel 4. I am unceratin what more symptomology one would require, so I will leave any request for system info up to the response I get, should additional info be needed in troubleshooting.

I thought I remember that someone else had a similar issue, but after reviewing, and a search, I was unable to run across a similar problem.

Look at your log files. When the system reboots it leaves a bunch of stuff in /var/log/messages and/or /var/log/syslog, with time stamps and everything. I don't use KDE, maybe there is a autologout feature ;) But you should also be able to get some clues by reading /var/log/XFree80.0.log. That one unfortunately doesn't have time stamps

I am wondering if you really mean rebooting. If you actually mean the Xserver is restarting, which is what it sounds like, this thread may be relevant:

if it is related to the above post, then lucho's suggestion of reading /var/log/XFree80.0.log is correct, as you will see that the GLX extension is failing to load.

If it is really rebooting, and you have an i810 intel chipset, then this may be related to the watchdog timer, there were issues with this until i810-tco was added to /etc/hotplug/blacklist, you may wish to check that it is uncommented in your version of the file, especially if you have recompiled the kernel with this module enabled.
