OBS studio 24.0.6 on -14.2: window capture/slide show is blank

I need to record tutorials/presentations using both the webcam and slides (as we used to do in live presentations). The application recognizes the xpdf slide show but does not display that source when I select that scene.

I have defined two scenes:
1. The webcam (Video Capture Device)
2. Slide show (Window Capture Xcomposite or Slide Show)

Scene 2 is a PDF slide show displayed using xpdf.

When scene 1 is active I see me in the webcam capture window. When scene 2
is active the widow capture window is blank (black background).

Is there a way to use this version of OBS studio on -14.2?

If not, I'll need to record the live webcam portion and the slides separately then integrate them using pitivi; doing both in simultaneously in OBS studio would save major time.

TIA,

Rich

First and only guess I have (I haven't really used any screen capture stuff in Linux) is to try turning off compositing on your WM/DE, if enabled. I believe I've read that this can cause similar types of issues.

I do this sort of thing with OBS several times a week.
I generally use a separate monitor for the pdf ppt openboard etc and capture the entire screen rather than a particular window.
It works good and is always the same size when I come back to it.

I havent used xpdf but have used okular and it should be no different.
I am running -current but I doubt much difference with obs.
