obconf always segmentation faults! Any other utility for openbox-lxde?

Ok so I've compiled obconf-2.0.3 and installed it but it always gets me a segmentation fault no matter what. I've tried other solutions from other posts but it just doesn't care. I've also installed a precompiled i486 binary from salixOS repository but still the same thing...

I really like lxde and I wanna stick with it but there seems to be no way for me to change the window decorations.

Are there any alternative gui utilities besides obconf for changing openbox window decorations? How do I do it manually?

You can download from openbox.org.

Can you please post the command you're using to start obconf and the exact error message you're getting from it?

you can try the new lxappearance with its dedicated openbox configuration module: it substitutes obconf.

more info for the new lxappearance on the lxde blog.

yes I forgot to mention that I also compiled and installed the new lxappearance from git repository and used obconf as a plugin, but that also resulted in segmentation fault (thankfully the new lxappearance would start fine without the plugin at least).

To the other poster: I ran it from terminal and it would just output segmentation fault immediately, and same with lxappearance when used with the obconf plugin.

I think I'm gonna recompile it with --enable-debug and see what's going on.

running glib2-2.24.2 and gtk+2-2.20.1.

Also ran update-desktop-database update-mime-database /usr/share/mime && /usr/share/applications according to the wiki http://openbox.org/wiki/ObConf:About#Installing_ObConf . Still segmentation fault with both plugin and/or standard obconf...

Yes I built from alien's slackbuild and also tried the i486 package. There's a different slackbuild and i486 package I tried as well besides slackbuilds.org. Still segmentation faults... Really messed up...

You probably got these from gsb. Try using the versions that come with slackware 13.1 instead. Or it could be some other package that you have replaced.
