nvidia_optimus bumblebee and manually unload nvidia modules

Anyone using bumblebee??

howtos:hardware:nvidia_optimus

I have to manually unload nvidia modules

Code:
bash-4.3# rmmod nvidia_modeset
bash-4.3# rmmod nvidia_drm
rmmod: ERROR: Module nvidia_drm is not currently loaded
bash-4.3# rmmod nvidia
bash-4.3# /etc/rc.d/rc.bumblebeed restart
/etc/rc.d/rc.bumblebeed: line 34: kill: `': not a pid or valid job spec
bash-4.3# /etc/rc.d/rc.bumblebeed restart
Only after that does the nvidia gpu shuts down

I may have outdated packages, I will perform a clean up and reinstall the necessary packages.

FYI, the Howto you are using seems to be outdated, there is no need for Bumblebee. https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/NVIDIA/Optimus

This does not provide the same functionality as bumblebee. This will basically set up the nvidia card as the primary workhorse on the computer and passing that information to the integrated Intel card, which means your laptop won't be sipping your battery, it'll be guzzling it. This is essentially used for those that want to have the Nvidia card be the primary card all the time but lack the bios option to change it.

Bumblebee is useful to keep most graphics rendering done on the lower-powered Intel card, and then, when desired, you can use primusrun or optirun to have a program run with the power-hungry Nvidia card.

Primusrun is more for Dual GPU rendering such as SLI/Crossfire, while Optirun is more for independent 3D accelerator chips.
