I have an NVidia TNT2 video card.

NVidia stopped supporting this card in versions of their driver after 7174.

I compiled and installed a new 2.6.16-ck6 kernel, then I went to install the NVidia drivers version 7174, and behold, it is unable to build the kernel module. I have fixed this problem before by upgrading the NVidia drivers to the latest version, but this time round the latest versions don't support my old TNT2 card.

Anyone know of any way I can get hardware accelerated openGL graphics without upgrading my graphicas card or downgrading my kernel????

for 2.6.16.x kernel, use the latest NVidia driver, 7586

TNT2 is not supported in 8756 anymore.

I actually never thought of this... My only solutions are to either stay with older kernels(bad), stop using nvidia's GLX module(also bad) or buy a 9$ PCI geforce 2(better, but still bad)

Nvidia dropping support was a pretty bad decision in my opinion, especially on linux, where their drivers break every 5 kernels or so.
