well, I had (until today :D) a TNT2 M64 w/32Mb Ram and I had 85 fps @ 1024x768x24x85Hz but I was able to run cs without problems (20-40 fps with bots and 30-60 on an empty server). And when I switched down to 60 Hz I could get max. 60 fps. This could be some kind of a frame limiter or whatever else.

Hmm I have a geforce 4mx440 and I get 2000+ fps in glxgears but then I go and run condition zero in 1024x768 in 16bit colors and I get like 20fps... I usually get 85fps stabl in windows... Anybody knows why?

Hi,

I was just testing my freshly installed nvidia drivers with glxgears and ran into the same problem - very low FPS (980 on GeForce3 Ti200). It took me an hour but I have found an explanation: although I made a symlink libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.0.5336, after reboot ldconfig changed it to the original libGL.so.1.2 from XFree86. I removed that library and recreated the symlink. Now I get 2400 and more FPS.
