nVidia's GeForce 7950 GX2 properly supported?

I'm deciding to upgrade my current video card, it is an EVGA e-GeForce 6600GT ~ 128 Mb GDDR3 (500MHz core, 1GHz memory) and buy one of these babes, especifically an EVGA e-GeForce 7950 GX2.

I wonder if someone has such or similar card and could advice me of anything to be concerned about... support, performance, throughput, power consumption, etc on Slackware 10.2 with the most nvidia current drivers.

My main concern is power consumption, as my power supply is of 450 watts and thats the 'recommended' spec for this card, I don't want to get it overloaded or something.

And of course, if that card works as good as it should on Slackware.

Any happy, slackware-ish owners?
Any advice from anyone is welcomed of course. Thanks in advance.

Note to moderator: I could discern of starting this thread here or in the hardware section, I decided here as I think it's quite more populated.

Some hardware specs, for reference:
AMD Athlon 64 3700+ ~ 2.2 GHz 1Mb L2 cache, socket 939 (San Diego core, 90nm)
2 gigs (4 x 512) DDR400 kingston Dual-Channel installed RAM | 3 - 3 - 3 - 8
ASUS A8N-E motherboard, nForce4 Ultra chipset
2 x Maxtor SATA2.0, 250 gigs each as RAID0
1 x Maxtor EIDE, 160 gigs
Sony DVD-ROM 16x, 48x
Sony DVD-R/RW 16x, 40x

You might want to check the Nvidia forum or mailing list ...
maybe some genius knows a hack or has other information.
