number of directories in root?

i'm wondering how many directories "should" be in root? i have 16, but i see in the slackware book that they only list 14. in addition to those 14, i have a system directory, which is mounted at boot, and also a fat32 partition i added when i installed. is there a normal or an average number of directories?

Move your FAT32 partition into /mnt/*. It's not good style to put it straight in /. /sys was added in 2.6.x . There isn't in 2.4.x
