NTFS Writing

Last time I checked that feature it was relatively unconvincing. I want to know if anyone has new information regarding writing NTFS on Linux. I prefer deleting or disinfecting viruses using Linux but I can't do it when the partition/drive is on NTFS. :D

Thanks a'lot.

Hit version 1 couple of days ago. Slack build at slackbuilds.org (for the RC version).

The two packages to look at are Linux-NTFS and ntfs-3g which use FUSE to operate in userspace. It's easier to write programs that operate in userspace so development has progressed farther than the kernel ntfs module support.

It is possible to view and alternate filestreams ( i.e.: ADS; e.g.:filename:streamname) but Linux based virus scanners don't support scanning alternate filestreams in a file.

Thank you very much for the heads up. I'm done compiling ntfs-3g. Now off to work . . . :D
