I would like to switch to Slackware but I know that generally there are problems with the Realtek 8188ce driver with certain flavors of Linux...this is my question. Is it possible to someway build the drivers needed for the wireless during installation so that I will be able to use it? I do not have access to a wired connection or I would just try to get it working that way...if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate them

I have done this in different flavors of linux and sometimes it goes well and sometimes not...what I am trying to figure out though is a solution for installing the driver with the installation of Slackware so I can make the switch to Slackware...I would normally just use a wired connection to get the drivers after the install and there would be no problems...but I currently do not have access to a wired connection and won't for a few months

Slackware comes with a complete build environment. If you have the source code of the driver available (and depencies, if any) you should have no problems to install the driver.
Simple test: Install Slackware into a VM and see if you can compile the driver.

I will give that a try and see what happens...if I choose to install from my pendrive would it be an issue to have the driver there along with the installation files so that it makes my life easier?
