Not seeing Username or Password boxes on LQ after latest upgrade in seamonkey or firefox

Been away from linux and slackware for about a year and did a massive upgrade to current today, broke X (didnt remember the upgrade procedure) fixed it, installed the latest NVIDIA drivers. I get a nice homey feeling being back, i forget how organized an interface i had put together.

After the upgrade, i can no longer see Username or Password input boxes on linuxquestions.org in either seamonkey or firefox.
I checked other forums i frequent, paradox interactive and dhammawheel.com to mention two, and the login input boxes are appearing and working.

As far as firefox goes i thought it might be an extension but seamonkey has the same problem and i never use it, so there is no chance of extensions causing a problem.

Chrome works fine and displays the input boxes.

Weird no?

I'm using FF-61.0 (built with pgo) and it works fine on LQ.

I suppose it could be a rendering problem with the nvidia driver. The input boxes dont appear, just blue space, when i type where they should appear i can see text in gray.
Firefox from the latest current, 60.1.0esr

Thought it might be a driver issue.

Ok maybe not, the buttons to submit posts are also missing, tho the text is there. I would think the firefox install had gone wrong but seamonkey does it too.

It isnt happening in KDE, only in Mate. Same version of Firefox.

Have you tried changing the desktop theme?

Yes a couple of times from my usual black and green to something more vanilla looking. Gotta be something like that tho.

Those come from netdna-ssl.com; have you installed an extension like uBlock Orign that is blocking it? Blocking it in a hosts file, etc.?

I have some things like that but its working in kde and i just tested xfce and it looks ok there too. So my guess is mate.
Its mate 1.12.1 and iirc the trouble installing it was more than i care to repeat so i guess i will live with it :)

No problems here with Seamonkey 2.49.3 with KDE on Slackware 14.2.
