Not hearing sound in Maya


Hi

When I try to load an audio (wave format) in Maya (3d package),I don't hear it.I have xine installed too.I'm running slackware 10.2.Any help on this?

Good question.Never tried it before.I tried it now,but it doesn't work either.So I tried playing a video and mp3 file with xine,it doesn't work.

Have you checked your alsa settings? By default Slackware mutes all of the audio devices. Just run alsamixer, and (as a rule) set everything to about 70% (you can just hit the number 7 on the bar). Then make sure everything is unmuted, and try it again.

I already found it.I did alsaconf and it worked.Thanx alot

just use the red hat and suse version. install the rpms.

Exactly.You can convert the rpm to tgz with the command rpm2tgz and then install the tgz by using installpkg.Guys,the problem isn't entirely solved yet for me.If I scrub trough the timeline I do hear sound,but when I hit play on the timeline or do a playblast,I don't hear any sound.Any ideas?
