Not 'slackware' per se, but maybe someone here can still help...

This is a question about Xine on my slackware 14.

I've asked this question twice on the xine mailing list and am getting zero answers...as a matter of fact I haven't seen a single post to that list in two days since I joined it.

Here's what I asked and hopefully someone here can help me figure it out:

-------
I can't seem to find the place where I can re-set the size of a screen
capture from a playing dvd movie. If I click on the little camera icon to
take the pic, it saves a png image of 720x480. This makes the pic seem a
little odd looking (the person(s) in it are elongated a little bit).

I'd like to be able to experiment and be able to adjust the capture to what
will look right and preferably a larger size also (a 1024x780 would be nice).

Anyone have any idea where I can find the place to tinker with this?
-------

It's not in any 'hidden' files that I can find, nor in the main setup, but a different set of eyes looking around may see something I cannot.

Look in ~/.xine/xinerc
If its not there, create this file and put it in this line:

Code:

geometry 1024x768+0+0
Save it and start xine.

Then try another snapshot.

Thanks, mlangdn,

There is no 'xinerc' anymore it seems. It's now just a simple 'config' and that's it. I tried adding what you said, but when I started xine it burped a couple of errors and nothing happened, so I had to delete that new file.

Any other ideas?

I haven't used xine in a long time. I have no idea now.

Ah....okay. Well, thanks for trying, I appreciate it.

Possibly VLC will make your screen shooting life easier

Yeah, it's just a big download for dial-up. I just have to remember to give it a try while I'm asleep for the night, heh.
