I have reinstalled it for a third/fourth time, and it just worked. Dunno why... Mods will probably want to erase this thread, so go on, it's not worth (in my opinion)...

Every thread is worthwhile. 'Specially when the problem is resolved. Yours may have stemmed from a speck of dirt on the install cd not letting one 'special' bit get written...dunno.
But it works now, so...

Wow, new discovery! In same Slackware, term transparency works in all window managers, except fluxbox. However, it works sometimes in fluxbox, too, but don't ask me why - I would say randomly. Well, that's alright, I'll use blackbox instead, even though I like fluxbox more.
I blame gremlins! :P
