for what it's worth:
I have Slackware -current Plasma 5 from alien bob repository.
SDDM login to Openbox

I do not have any issues with sound when running:
Code:
#firejail bash
#alsamixer

however I do not have sound in firefox when I run
Code:
firejail --seccomp --overlay-tmpfs firefox
adding --noprofile flag restores sound
Code:
firejail --noprofile --seccomp --overlay-tmpfs firefox
open any sound enabled site and sound plays.
firejail from sbo ver 0.9.58.2

Slackware kernel 5.4.8 no sound in firefox with pulseaudio

SOLVED, see below.

Hi, I am trying out slackware current. In my Slackware 14.2 setup the following code works with sound "firejail --net=eth0 --netfilter ~/firefox/firefox -no-remote &". But when I try to run this with the latest Slackware current, kernel 5.4.8, firefox runs, but no pulseaudio sound. Anyone have a solution?

Which window manager/desktop and runlevel are you using?

Hi, I'm using ICEWM 1.6.3. Firefox 69. It all works fine under Slackware 14.2 and kernel 4.14.51. Under Slackware current with kernel 5.4.8 firejail firefox works, but no pulse sound. Firefox alone works with sound.

The output from "firejail --debug --noprofile ~/firefox/firefox &" is

With this pavucontrol hangs and says it can't connect. Upon a pulseaudio
restart I get some message about X not being setup correctly in pavucontrol.

When I do "firejail --net=eth0 --netfilter ~/firefox/firefox -no-remote &" the output is

Seccomp list in: !chroot, check list: @default-keep, prelist: unknown,
.]0;firejail /home/zentara/firefox/firefox -no-remote .

Either way, pulseaudio dosn't connect. Thanks for any suggestions.

Just out of interest, can you see if it works in XFCE or KDE? Also, are you using startx or a graphical session manager (runlevel 4)?

Hi, after messing around, the problem seems to have resolved itself. I can't say exactly what the issue was, but I rebuilt the latest firejail from github, and after messing with the pavucontrol configuration the HDMI sound showed up and works. Very happy here. I did notice one glitch. I have 2 network cards, and the firejail option --net=eth0 started giving me an error that the interface was not found. I finally tried actually giving an ip address to the second card,eth1, and then firejail found eth0. ??? I don't know why, but I don't question anything that works :-)
