No sound on firefox ESR 52.1.0 64 bits

Hello

I'm using using Slackware 14.2 64 bits multilib.
And today my firefox sound stopped working.
In chromium, google-chrome and brave browser no problem with sound.
Seamonkey doesn't have sound also.
I can play mp3, flac with cmus, audacious.
And also can see movies with mplayer and vlcplayer.

I think this problem is mozilla related.
And maybe with pulseaudio?

My /etc/asound.conf

Code:
# ALSA system-wide config file
# By default, redirect to PulseAudio:
#pcm.default pulse
#ctl.default pulse

pcm.!default {
    type hw
    card 0
}

ctl.!default {
    type hw
    card 0
}

I commented

Code:
pcm.default pulse
ctl.default pulse
because with that there is no sound at all!

Are you not wanting to use pulseaudio? Forcing things to alsa without a full plan on switching to alsa can have unexpected results.

Did you originally have pulseaudio working fine and it stopped suddenly? If so, it would probably be better to diagnose that rather than taking the shotgun approach of switching to alsa.

I commented the lines because I didn't had sound on audacious.
But I will try setup pulseaudio and reboot the machine.
And read pulseaudio settings in arch linux help.
I'm used to alsa. pulseaudio seams a little confusing.

Pulseaudio is a different beast than alsa, but many times, it is easier to configure. And it is likely here to stay with Slackware, so it might be beneficial to learn it.

With audacious, you should be able to set it's output to pulseaudio in the settings. If that doesn't work, we'd need to do some more troubleshooting.
