This suggests that you have multiple sound devices and the one you want to use is not the default. Flash tries to use the default sound device.
Search this forum for 'flash default sound' and you will find numerous threads with solutions.

I just had this problem myself, this is what I did:
Code:
gerardozamudio@inara:~ $ cat ~/.asoundrc
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 1
}
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 1
}
List your devices with aplay -l

That's a quick fix but down the road could cause more issues. Example 1 buy a new webcam with a digital sound card embedded, Example 2 Same thing with a USB headset.Example 3 graphics cards with mini-HDMI etc etc. and on board HDMI
when the system boots it may place one of them devices as card 1. Slackware loves to do that to my webcam on a fresh install.
Best bet is search how to configure your system ALSA with multiple cards.
This is a big deal since ALSA does it all at boot time now.
So for the long term if used with multiple devices better off setting up a config file in your /etc/modprobe.d/folder.

No sound in Firefox ! I reckon that's a feature, not a bug :-)
