No sound after updating ALSA to 10.0.1 w/swaret

I'm running kernel 2.4 (Slack 10.2), and used swaret to update ALSA to 1.0.10 Before the update, sound was fine, using the maestro 3 drivers. After rebooting after the update, no sound, and there were errors about modprobe during boot. I updated everything that was ALSA (drivers, tools, etc). Any ideas?

If needed, can post whatever needed

You cannot arbitrarily upgrade alsa-driver, it is always built against a particular kernel. The package version will tell you this.

alsa-driver-1.0.10_2.4.32-i486-1
(alsa-driver-<alsa version>_<kernel version>-i486-1)

Unless you have also upgraded your kernel to 2.4.32, you will have to rebuild the alsa-driver package yourself, or downgrade to the Alsa packages that Slackware shipped with the kernel your are currently using.
