No Sound after Running Firefox

Hello!

Whenever I run Firefox (Flash is also installed), the sound on the rest of the system fails.

EDIT: I noticed through fuser -v /dev/dsp that firefox takes over the sound device. However, I don't think it did this behavior before I upgraded from 12.1 to 12.2

Any help would be great!
Murdock

Did you try the latest adobe flash plugin? Adobe flash plugin does take over dsp, but many modern ALSA devices support multiple open now. What's your device? Can you try
Code:
mplayer -ao alsa some_file.wav

You may want to look into using a software mixer such as dmix

Hello,

Thanks for your help. However, I don't really know what to change, since things were working fine and it seems the problem came about only when I upgraded to 12.2
