Good day everyone,
almost as a continuation of a thread quoted above, I don't seems to be able to successfully install new packages on Slackware current (after managing the struggle with nVidia proprietary drivers installation).
I am talking about sbopkg and/or installing the binary files from pckgs.org and/or a couple of slackbuild attempts: all failed.
So far, I can confirm (tried several times and different ways) that the following packages return "fatal" errors and abort the installation process.
skype (quite useful but not essential),
vlc (very useful and almost required to open some HD mp4 files),
inkscape (required for work),
scribus (vital for work)
I would also like to point out/ask whether something has changed in sbopkg; on slackware 14.1 the q-file was composed of about 7-8 dependency packages (i imagine all third parties), for example, to install scribus (which i use a lot for work). Now, I attempted to install scribus and there were more than 20 dependency packages required. In the end the process was aborted due to a fatal error and, most importantly, almost all disk space was gone.
sbopks error when attempting to install scribus and/or inkscape (but the are similar when installing vlc, etc.)

interestingly, i remember that I managed to install scribus on Slackware 14.2 (before the upgrade) through sbopkg, despite using almost all my free disk space (almost 15Gb).
EDIT - With no history to go by on this thread I have to rely on my faulty memory and investigative journalism to find that you are a seasoned Slacker. Kindly disregard my previous reply and carry on.
PS - That is why my sig is so long. Provides info/history
Distribution: Slackware64 15.0 (started with 13.37). Testing -current in a spare partition.

Any ideas/news?

Do you mean pkgs.org? Don't install anything from that site, search the forum to know why.

another example of failed install!
I didnt know that slackware current does not support sbopkg no more; however, it is strange that it seems to install the other dependencies fine.
Ok i will disregard sbopkg from now on and try the repositories mentioned.
I didnt know that slackware current does not support sbopkg no more;
It is the other way 'round: slackbuilds.org only supports packages for RELEASED versions of Slackware, so 14.x or older (with 14.2 as the latest one).
Your conf file for sbopkg is probably pointing to that 14.2 repo, but, as others already said, you are not running 14.2 anymore so it should be using ponce's -current version instead.

The slackbuild scripts are designed for Slackware 14.2 and earlier versions of Slackware. Therefore some packages may not build properly on Slackware-current.

if it walks like a duck and it looks like a duck then, it's probably a duck!
Thanks! the obvious is often overlooked (a little tired too, as i'm trying to do a million things at the same time).
Anyway, I appear to have another little problem; I am pointing the repo to SBo git -current, however when i sqg -a to populate the queues directory, it still points to 14.2 and stops as there are no such directories.
I looked at /etc/sbopkg/sbopkg.conf and i can't figure out how to correct it (searched on goggle also and no results were found). I remembered that I could git clone ponce/queue files but i just can't find it on git hub.

you have to set the variables REPO_NAME and REPO_BRANCH also in the /usr/sbin/sqg script itself.
