No network on slackware 12
 

Hi all, just installed slack 12, im pretty sure i set up the ip addresses correctly etc but i cant get to the slack 12 pc from this 1 (scp) and the internet doesnt work on it either.

Im not too sure even where to start on trying to fix this, its been a while since i had network problems :/

Which kernel? Hardware information?

Is your network device detected and the driver loaded? From the cli do 'dmesg |grep -i eth'. Or once up do a 'lspci -vv' to show the devices.

Did you run netconfig from the cli? You could edit the '/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf' file an make the changes manually.

What about the network device? What does 'ifconfig -a' show? What does your route table show 'route -n'?

If you post this information then we can help diagnose the problem.
