No mouse after update

Running slack64-current with AlienBob's KDE-5 (latest update as of 4.5.17). After installing the latest Slackware update (from 9.5.17) and rebooting after a shutdown when I start the plasma desktop it starts normally and I get to the initial screen but I have no mouse - just a thin vertical line where the arrow should be and it won't move with the mouse. I reinstalled AlienBob's latest plasma update thinking that maybe something got stepped on during the update but no joy. I rebuilt X11 and installed it - no joy. Rebuilt the Nvidia driver (375.66) still no joy. If I start plasma logged in as root I see the normal arrow for the mouse but it doesn't move either. Ran package tool and reinstalled the mouse - no joy. I am now out of ideas about what to try next. Can anyone make some suggestions on resolving this? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response Willy. Both packages were there but I reinstalled them anyway. Now when I start x it starts and then quits with the message - could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb".

you are missing libxkbcommon from AlienBOB's repository, which is part of Qt5's dependency

I downloaded a fresh copy and (re)installed it. No change. Even reinstalled his Qt5 package.

Did you got the same error?
His Qt5 has libinput and libxkbcommon as dependencies

Yes, same error. libinput and libxkbcommon were reinstalled but no joy. Had a look at the log file in /var/log and see -

Which looks like it is a libinput problem.

It says it is missing libwacom.so.2. If you use https://packages.slackware.com and change the mode to content, it will allow you to search packages for that filename. It is part of the libwacom package, so I would ensure you have that installed.

And what "fresh copy" are you downloading? It might help find the cause of your issue.

Thank you bassmadrigal. That was indeed it. Have no idea how it could disappear as everything was working swimmingly prior to that upgrade. I was going cross eyed looking for causes and completely missed that log entry. Thank you too Willy for your support.

ah, libwacom and libinput was added to Slackware-current, so i had an assumption that you have it on your system.

Hi Willy,

It had been on my system as everything ran just fine until that update. Then libwacom just seemed to vanish. Must be a poltergeist lurking somewhere. Thanks again for your help.
