No internet access on Slackware 10.0
Hello,
I've installed Slackware 10.0 and in the installation i've choosed not to configure my network when prompted. Then, with the installation finished, i've configured adsl with adsl-setup and used adsl-start to connect. Everything okay until here. But i cannot browse any site. Anything opens. Any help? (sorry about my english) |
Welcome to LQ!
All you've done with adsl-setup is configure rp-pppoe. You still have to configure your network. Login as root and issue bash-2.05b# netconfig and get that setup properly. You should see by issuing bash-2.05b# adsl-status that you're not online. |
Did you add nameservers to your /etc/resolv.conf ? Or were they set by DHCP ? Or is the file empty ?
You should at least have a line in there like Code:
nameserver <ipnumber dns of your provider> |
Solved
Thanks all.
Solved the problem by configuring my network via netconfig and reconfiguring adsl to set DNS given by my ISP. |
