NIC card that works with slackware

Hello, My nic card (Kingston 100TX) apparently does not have a driver that works with slackware/linux that I can find. I plan on buying a cheap NIC card, but I want to buy one that will definitely work with slackware.

Or, if someone knows where to get a driver for my KINGSTON 100TX card (i'll post more specific inormation when I get home, <3 posting at work ), that would also work. Any help is appreciated,

-thx, summ0n3r

nah, no Kingston cards are in there. I was more interested in what cards people use and if there is a common one which people use and that works with slackware 10.

Well, I use 3c905 TX/M cards and Intel Etherpress 100 Pro . But they don't come cheap. You probably want something with a Realtec 8139 chipset among other cheap options.

Hmmmm, I found a 3c905 for 6.59 here, as long as the shipping works out.

http://www.gearxs.com/gearxs/product...oducts_id=2301

Might not be what I want, but for ~$7, I'm going to give it a shot. thx for the info

There's good advice here, any rtl8139 will work out of the box.
I have a TRENDnet te100 pciwin (rtl81390) that I picked up
at an office supply store for $10 US.

Save your money, the Kingston 100TX is supported by the tulip module.

As root:
Code:
modprobe tulip
dhcpcd eth0
That's assuming you get your IP through dhcp of course.
If not, you can use netconfig to configure your static IP address.

Gotta love www.google.com/linux
My query was:
"Kingston 100tx"

And the first hit was from the tulip kernel developers mailing list...
