nfs4 support in 14.0

Trying to look at files in a Linux Mint 13 box from our Slackware 14.0 server. Want to use NFSv4, but when I issue a mount.nfs4 command, the system complains that there ain't no such animal. Similar problem if I issue a mount -t nfs4 command. It does respond positively to a mount.nfs command and to a mount -t nfs command.

Searching leads me to believe that if I want nfs4 support in 14.0, I have to rebuild the kernel with a particular setting changed. Do I have that right, or is nfs4 support already baked in, but I just haven't figured it out correctly yet?

Thankx in advance.

Slackware is missing a few libs and other bits to make it work, check out the discussion from this thread :-

Thank you for your reply, wildwizard.

I read through that thread before I posted. The OP in the thread was referring to 12.2, and it wasn't clear from any of the other postings as to whether the situation had changed in later versions.

If I understand you correctly, it hasn't.

Best regards,
champted
