Newbie Question - KDM/Runlevel 4 - Help

Newbie Question

I would like for my Slack 10 system to boot straight to KDM and not to the command line. I read that I need to have my system boot to runlevel 4. In newbie instructions.....how do I do this?

Thanks in advance!

Look using your favourite editor in /etc/inittab for:
Code:
# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:3:initdefault:
and change that to:
Code:
# Default runlevel. (Do not set to 0 or 6)
id:4:initdefault:
Then open your /etc/rc.d/rc.4 and comment following lines like the example:
Code:
# Try to use GNOME's gdm session manager:
#if [ -x /usr/bin/gdm ]; then
#  exec /usr/bin/gdm -nodaemon
#fi
That's it
