Hi all,
As I'm pretty fed up with having an FAQ thread that can't be updated after X amount of time, and nowhere that provides a quick overview of Slackware (i.e. telling people the resources available to answers simple questions, some of the basic differences between Slack and other distros, and links to The Book and The Unofficial Revised Book), I've done something constructive with my time and added two entries to the LinuxQuestions.org Wiki:
Slackware Introduction -
http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/...e-Introduction
Slackware FAQ -
http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Slackware-FAQ
The introduction was put together by myself, so feel free to correct it, add to it, tear it to shreds or come up with something better - it's a Wiki after all!
The FAQ section is rather sparse at the moment because I'm not happy copying and pasting other peoples answers to it, as they may not have agreed to the Creative Commons license that the wiki uses (so the only answer there at the moment is one of mine). As things come up, it can be added to so that we have a more concise place to refer certain questions to (rather than a link to a thread where the answer is post #29 or some such)
(Hopefully, we can later get a new thread sticked on this forum along the lines of 'Please Read This Before You Post' or 'Intro to Slackware', or something along those lines, that points to the wiki. The advantage being that a wiki can be updated whenever it needs to be, unlike the time lock on forum post editing)
