New SATA HDD => Slack doesn't want to boot anymore

Ok. This is weird.

I'm using the standard Huge SMP kernel.

I have 4 hard drives. One is IDE, 2 are SATA and the new one is also SATA.

My motherboard has 2 different SATA controllers on it. One Nforce3 witch i use for my older 2 SATA drives and another SIL 34xxxx something that can be used for RAID but for single hdd's too.

So, i installed my new HDD on that controller's port and now Slackware won't boot up anymore.

I'm getting an error saying "kernel panic - not syncing: No init found. Try passing init = option to kernel".

Ubuntu sees the new HDD fine and Vista too... It is marked as /dev/sdc witch means it's the third SATA/SCSI HDD so i don't think there is a problem with it messing the drive order in slackware hence the no boot problem.

BTW: i don't use an initrd IMG for starting Slackware.

My controller should be supported by the kernel i think... It's HUGE after all

Any ideas?

Nevermind... I'm an idiot.

I didn't look hard enough in the "fdisk -l" output when i booted from the Slack install DVD. New hdd is seen as SDA instead of SDC so slack12 install changed from /dev/sda3 to /dev/sdb3.

Works fine now...
