New program opens in background

Since some time ago, maybe connected to some -current or MATE (msb) upgrade, I've noticed that some programs opens in the background instead of appearing on top of the program that has been in use.
This only happens if the .desktop file contains the line
Quote:
Startupnotify=true
If I set it to =false, it opens on top as expected.
Editing is easy, and I don't miss the startupnotify function, but I'd be glad if anyone has an explanation?

This is probably something different, but check if your currently running applications windows haven't set "always on top" option. I'm not even sure if this property is available in MATE windown manager...
