new package manegement ap for slackware

Hello all,

I found this post on the general forum at http://linuxpackages.net and thought Id pass it on here. I've tried it out and it works great. Everything below is pasted complete from the original post

Cheers

<snip>

Guaranteed to blow your socks off!

Better by far than any of the other available package management tools for slackware out there.

Try it and post your thoughts here so others can benefit!

Due to glibc requirements, only works on slack 9.0 or better.

I don't know never used swaret. This is straight off the README

1. Features

slapt-get tries to emulate Debian's apt-get as closely as possible.

* cache package data and update data from mirror site
* show packages that are available (from cached data)
* allow packages to be retrieved and installed by name
* allow updates to be retrieved and applied (frontent to updatepkg)
* show description of packages
* list installed packages
* remove packages (frontent to removepkg)
* --dist-upgrade from one slackware release to another
* exclude (hold) packages from upgrades
