Sorted...
In a previous life the system had Suse installed. Since then I have had a Grub loading message which required sorting after installing Slackware. This meant booting from a slack bootdisk and entering at the prompt... lilo -b /dev/hda just remembered this and it has sorted the problem. Now using the new kernel. Didn't it boot faster. Thanks for your time again. |
Solved kenel install.
Found kernel on disk 4 in extras, Installed with modules then used installpkg, went out to my master hda and edited grub with new kernel 2.6.18, rebooted and it worked. I just like to thank everyone that had input.
