Does anything 2.6.13 related show up in /boot? I've never actually used a 2.6x kernel from the Slackware distribution, thereby opting to download and compile the source from the Internet. If you do have something in /boot, such as vmlinuz-ide-2.6.13, then you will need to edit your /etc/lilo.conf to add an entry for the new kernel, if you are using LILO as a bootloader. Just make another entry by copying what is already in place for the 2.4.31 kernel, and changing the necessary information for 2.6.13. Do not overwrite information for the 2.4.31 kernel, in case you cannot boot successfully into 2.6.13 you can then boot to 2.4.31 (have two separate entries). If you are using grub as a bootloader, I am unsure how to do this..
