New dropline gnome for Slackware-14.1 doesn't work

I recently installed new alpha version of dropline gnome for Slackware 14.1, and it did nothing for me except it took about 600mb of disk space.

Welcome to LQ and this forum.

I see that you've reported your issue on dropline's bugtracker already. I doubt that you'll get more help posting here - unless some user was more successful than you. In any case just stating "it did nothing for me" doesn't help anyone to help you - assuming that you're looking for help.

In any case if an alpha software was supposed to work everywhere... It would probably not be labelled alpha.

Yeah, Alpha versions are alpha for a reason.

Try the latest stable instead.

Unfortunately there is no stable, only a beta. And it doesn't work for me either.

To be honest AFAIK it works over here very well. If we want to go the same way of just telling if its working or not. Please be more specific on what it does not work ?
Post errors, describe in detail what happens.
