network install & initrd help please!

Scenario:
Notebook-No floppy, no cdrom
PXE network boot=yes, so we're doing a network install.

Created a tftpd + dhcpd + nfsd server on another machine running slack10.2. When notebook boots up, it can't see the nfs shares because http://www.istitutocolli.org/pr100/
says they've created eeepro 100 driver support for their initrd.pr100

Question is how do I make my own initrd with
1-network install support
2-nfs network install support
3-natsemi(National semiconductor) driver support?

So I can boot up and get network support to see the nfs shares to install/fix slackware on notebook?

I would recommend first to extract your existing Slackware initrd file onto a temporary directory like /tmp/myinitrd. You'll have to use a combination of cpio and gzip - I can't remember the exact steps. You can get this off the net, there are many articles. After you extract the contents of the default initrd then you'll have to copy the modules needed to load for the devices on your laptop, especially the network card. You will also have to add the loading of this module in the init file within this initrd ramdisk file that you just extracted. Afterward you will have to use cpio and gzip again to compress it and then you'll have to put it in your PXE directory that loads it. You may want to google "making initrd ramdisk".
