Network doesn't work
My Network doesn't work, I have a Computer with Windows, and another one with Slackware 9.1
On Windows the Network is running well, but on Slackware it makes problems. I have configed the network with "netconfig", and set for static IP, Gateway and so on, the same things as on Windows. Now I change the cable, but it doesnt work.
What's the problem?

By changing the cable I understand that you unplugged the ethernet cable from the Windoze box and plugged it into the slackware box.
What does running return? If there is no eth0 or similar entry, try then rerun and post the output.
Posting the output of will tell us what Ethernet card you have.

Can't help you much further unless you post at least the outputs of
Code:
ipconfig /all
route -p print
(on your Windows computer) and
Code:
ifconfig -a
route -n
cat /etc/resolv.conf
(on the Slackware box).

When you mean you switch the cable do you mean you unplug the one from the windows then into the linux one?
If so is the other end connected to a Cable/dsl modem or router?
If not a router who is the provider?
If like Comcast they use the MAc address of the nic to authenicate with. Unless you have added the MAC from the linux box ethernet card then I doubt they will let you use the internet.
But the more details of your setup the better and faster we all can help.
Answer the above questions as well.
