In the strictest sense I guess you could say the problem is "solved," but given the miserable resulting performance, it difficult to say, IMHO, that a solution has truly been found.

Any reason why not to try Chrome with HTML5 instead of going the Silverlight/Pipelight/Wine route?

I get flawless performance with pipelight in Firefox...is there a video card issue, perhaps? (What is your video card, what driver do you use, etc.) See here for information on hardware acceleration with pipelight.

(Or, as suggested, try the Chrome beta)
