net traffic

I have a small 2 computer lan setup at home mainly to use the router to split net access to both of them. I use karamba on my kde desktop to monitor the net traffic from my computer, but how would I monitor all net traffic through my router?

Is your router a Linux box? If so, use
Code:
netstat
There are many options for this command - read its man pages. To me the most useful for what I need is
Code:
netstat -atun
That means: show listening and non-listening sockets, show tcp ports, show udp ports and do not try to resolve IPs.

If your router is not a Linux box, then read the router manual.

sorry I wasn't exactly clear first time around

I mean I have two computers hooked up to a NAT router (Linksys), just was wondering if it was possible to monitor in/out bandwidth from the router (which is at ip 192.168.1.1 locally). One is a windows box (for the wife) and mine is a linux box, but it doesn't actually do any routing, it's just hooked up to the router for net access.

i think you would need something like mrtg:
http://mrtg.hdl.com/mrtg.html

you can use the iptraf command as root to see local traffic and info.
