net card detect


Hi i´m new at the forum.
just wanted to know where i can found out which kernel/module i need to get to start my netcard.
i have an asus a7n266-vm which comes with a netcard integrated. windows calls it "nvidia nforce mcp networking adapter" :S

Hi,

Welcome to LQ!

Your reference to netcard, should be NIC (Network Interface Card) or you can use Network adapter. These are the correct terms for wired interface.

As for the nforce, a search on LQ for this forum will get you a lot of information!

You may ned to enable support for the nforce in your kernel

did you try the 2.6 kernel on the CD?
if so make sure you install the 2.6 modules
