Needed help to connect WindowsMobile phone

Slackware-current
HTC Touch Cruise, Windows Mobile 6.1 (CE OS 5.2.19965)

I installed the packages:
Code:

distribute-0.6.36-x86_64-1_SBo
gnet-2.0.8-x86_64-1_SBo
libmimedir-0.5.1-x86_64-1_SBo
librapi2-0.13.1-x86_64-1_SBo
librra-0.13-x86_64-1_SBo
librtfcomp-1.1-x86_64-2_SBo
libsynce-0.13-x86_64-2_SBo
sync-engine-0.13-x86_64-1_SBo
synce-kpm-0.15.1-x86_64-1_SBo

Sync-engine starts with an exception:
Code:

2013-06-29 19:21:42,654 INFO engine.syncengine.kernel : __init__: exception org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.Hal was not provided by any .service files
Synce-kpm also gives an error:
Code:

Problems connecting to Hal, is it running ?
The problem is that HAL has been removed in Slackware 14.0. I don't want to add HAL just for this stupid connection (I'm not sure if it is possible and harmless).

Could you suggest another application that is able to connect WindowsMobile devices and run on -current?

You also need Hal for encrypted content in the flash plugin. To be precise, adobe's flash plugin looks to hal to serv up one lousy lib, and I had to install it for that.

I'm using airdroid over android. The app logs onto my wifi and becomes a server. It prints it's details and I have to accept the connection at both ends - that's it. Perhaps there's something similar for you to save all that farting around.

I needed to transfer several files, so I did it via bluetooth. I'll mark the thread SOLVED.

But you gave me the idea to put Android on the phone :) It is old and not used for years, it will be a good training box.
