As the title says, I am trying to install Fedora Linux on a laptop. Unfortunately, the laptop has a weird CDROM drive that ONLY reads 650MB CDs. Fedora 5 CDs are OVER 650MB.
A few years ago when I installed Mandrake 9.0 on the same machine, there was a boot disk that I was able to make that booted a kernel from floppy and then gave me the option of installing Fedora from the USB drive.
I asked the folks in the Fedora part of linuxquestions.org and they refered me to Smart Boot Manager. Unfortunately, when I tried that boot disk, my USB CDROM drive was NOT one of the options.
Any suggestions? I figured Slack folks would have some great ideas!!
NO...installing Slack is NOT a valid solution...but thanks for your enthusiasm.
