I always symbolic link (ln -s) root's files to my home's files for
.bashrc
.bash_profile
.vim
.gvim
and any others where I want to keep the same config when in root.

My .bash* files are simple with only;
source /etc/profile

Keeping with the kiss method.

Hi
The thing is i don't have those files in my home directory either, i accidently deleted them all. I don't remember exactly how those files are for root and im not gonna reinstall, asking someone on here to post them is the fastest way i can think to repair those files for root.

sorry but those files do not exist by default. You have to create them.

ok cool
i ran a script which put a bashrc and bash_profile in roots directory so i was thinking i'd have to rewrite them, i didn't realise they didn't exist as default to start with !!
