Need Index to Introduction to Linux by Garrels

Hope this is the right place for this.

Does anyone have a PDF file of the index to Introduction to Linux A Hands on Guide by Machtelt Garrels 1.27 edition?

I have read it, though a lot was over my new users head and need to reread it sitting at the keyboard and doing all the exercises, etc.

Anyway the copy I downloaded and printed out does not have the index which starts on page 215. I have done searches but all the files I have found omit the index.

Any help will be appreciated.

The document on Machtelt Garrels' website has the index: http://tille.garrels.be/training/tldp/ix01.html

If you want a pdf you could just in Firefox' menu choose File => Print then in the General tab chose "Print in a file" and pdf as output format.

Thank you for the time you took to respond.

Unfortunately that index does not provide page numbers, just links. Perhaps I failed to mention that I printed out the documentation I was able to find and placed those pages in a binder. I would like to be able to print out the index and have a reference to what page number(s) the topic I am interested in is located.

Sorry, no clue for that. The only way that I know is to read the html pages in a browser then. Maybe some program can rebuild the index with the pagination, but I don't know. It looks even more difficult as the version of the document I mentioned is split in several pages.

This pdf has an index at the end.

Thank you for the time you took to respond. However the file you provided does not provide an index that lists page numbers, merely links to other parts of the PDF file.

The PDF version of the book (1.27) hosted by the Linux Documentation Project has both the Glossary at the end of the document (with links), and the Table of Contents at the beginning (with links and page numbers):

M. Garrels, Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide (PDF)

The copy I printed out also has the table of contents and the glossary.

I am beginning to think that a copy of the index (with page numbers not links) does not exist.
