I can't do much more than tell you to find examples of XF86Config for your card with an Internet search and read the documents I already linked to. And if you have a documentation for your card, read it to know the right values, for e.g. the horizontal sync and other parameters

You never have to execute a driver yourself, it's used by the Xserver itself if it is properly referenced in the config file. But you never reference the file itself as you can see on many examples and reading the man pages.
