I'll post my working rc.inet1.conf in a few, but something I did find odd is that I'm trying this while I'm at work, and we have a WAP here, that's secured with WPA2. I can connect to that no problem. There's just something that WICD is not configuring properly to connect to the WEP enabled, adhoc network I need to.

Frustrating for sure.

ugh..

Ok, so I thought I might as well give my default slack 13 install an upgrade, by running slackpkg upgrade-all.. so, it did it, then of course the box failed to boot, since it would seem the new kernel decided to classify my ide controller as a scsi one. so, little lilo update, and I'm back in business.

I went ahead and let the installer put in new config files, except for ones that I know I have edited (rc.inet1.conf, dhcpd.conf, etc)

Now it would seem slack is not detecting my wireless card at all. I can see it if I do a lspci, it sees my network card, Network Controller: RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11g PCI, but it does not appear that udev is installing it as an interface..

there is nothing but my wired nics in 70-persistent-net.rules.. there was, but I tried removing this file, so that udev would recreate it..

Any ideas?
