I just want to say that this doc:

http://linorg.usp.br/slackware/slack...EADME_UEFI.TXT

was a godsend for enabling me to install Slack and Win10 in dual boot. The problems I had were with the GRUB docs, or better, the sorry status of it. Even now, there's a SBo package of a Slacware Grub theme but ZERO instructions on how to enable it.

I just just installed a GRUB theme I stumbled upon https://pkgs.org/slackware-14.2/slac...lonly.txz.html and it's actually easy to get it up and running.

Check out the first section of this tutorial, http://wiki.rosalab.ru/en/index.php/...theme_tutorial, especially this section:

To make the bootloader switch to our theme, we should set parameter GRUB_THEME in file /etc/default/grub.
In other words, we should write a string GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub2/themes/test/theme.txt.
After the sign "=" we should write the absolute path to the main theme file.
If the string GRUB_THEME=... already exists in /etc/default/grub, we should rewrite it, so it will be GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub2/themes/test/theme.txt.
There shouldn't be two strings for the same parameter.

For the above theme I installed, I had to add GRUB_THEME=/boot/grub/themes/slackware/theme.txt since that is where the theme.txt was in the txz. After that just update grub like normal: #grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

Hopefully this helps.

@larrystorch: your instructions are actually useful. I already was able to enable it by searching through the Arch wiki. My point was that there are ZERO docs on how to enable and configure GRUB2 on Slackware, to the point that even a theme for it had ZERO instructions on how to enable it.

Haha, thanks for the suggestion. To be frank with you, I find the wiki quite complete, and as I said, I used it successfully. Everything worked without rEFInd and I didn't find the need for more sophistication. But I'll think about what you are saying. If I have time, I'll try rEFInd with dual booting Slack and Windoze and write some documentation about it.

Cheers.
