Unhappy ncurses based programs in Slack 10.0

I've just installed Slackware 10.0. I have problems with ncurses based programs:

* In pkgtool in Remove and View I was able in 9.1 to tape any letter and the list of files moved to first file starting with this letter. It was very convenient. Now it works only with Capital letters (there are hardly any files starting with capital letters)

* In installation disks in each directory there are scripts called 'install-packages'
with them you can install easily selected packages. But in 10.0 when I select packages and click OK nothing happens. None of the selected packages are being installed.

BTW. I reinstalled Slackware 10.0 with Full installation option, and I still have the same problems.

Does anybody know why??

I think dialog was changed in 10.0. Have you noticed different colors from before?
pkgtools 10.0 also includes some script changes, but I've heard of a bug or 2.
