Looking for solution for this probelm? me too. Why this post then? Cuz I will post here every information that helped me out in solving this problem.
OK, I admit, this target is maybe little bit for kids only, but what a heck.

Here are my resources:
- winex
- WC3
- Slacware 9.1
- Radeon 9700Pro with 128 RAM
- MoBo will tell when I am back at home
- 1GB RAM
- XFree 4.3.0

Further, all problems will be posted with solutions.

I asume that You know how to get XFree working, that You know how to edit files and that You are not scare to blow up youre PC.

How I like to have this tutorial done?
In next post, I hope second on this thred, I start to explain what I have done and where did I get stuck on something.
What I expect from rest of interested ppl is, that they will post they problems and their solutions too.
Then when we are so good as sure about that our tutor works I will make one document.

1. Slack installed from scratch on my second drive

So as You can see nothing special on the system, except winex.

as I used it as my guide, I have to explain few things:

I have done every thing as CrsH is discribing, all instalation setps went OK till I tried to trun fglrx_gears.

I got WC3 running on my system!!!
Ther is no sound atm but that is not a issue this time

As I sed I had problems with agpgart module.
so I did what UnTamed sugested:

and that actuaky fixed my problems...
