All right, I have no idea what's going on here. But I am trying to install MySQL Administrator/Query Browser on my Slack 12 desktop so I can access and administer my MySQL Server (which used to run Slackware, but has been running Debian Etch for a while now). Basically it's giving me errors regarding libgtkmm-2.4. I found the source package for it and tried to install libgtkmm but even that's giving me issues about my version of glibmm (which is 2.12.10). Which I'll keep looking around for a more up to date version of that. What gets me the most of this whole process is I am pretty sure I had very little headaches when trying to install this same application in Slackware 11. So why is it such a big headache now? Anyone else every came across this or have some alternative suggestions?

And FYI... this has been frustrating me so much that I have pondered switching distributions, and I have been a looooooooong time Slack user.
