mysql 4.1.12 installation & PHP 5
Hi LQers,
I recently upgraded from php 4.3.11 to 5.0.4 from current. I am also trying to learn mysql so I am currently running, mysql 4.0.24 (also from current). I, however, would like to upgrade to latest version of mysql. I actually managed to compile and install mysql's latest version but PHP doesn't recognize it so i downgraded back to 4.0.24 for the time being. I have read up a bit on this and I believe it an issue with mysqli being the default in version 4.1. Can anybody guide me where should i make changes to get PHP to recognize mysql's latest version. Any help is hugely appreciated. Tux, |

Have you tried to re-compile php with the new mysql client libs? |
No actually I haven't tried to compile php with new mysql client libs. Thanks for pointing out the thread...i have the same problem.i.e. I can start mysql server but PHP doesn't notice mysql's presence.
I'll try and compile php as well and see what happens... Thanks again Tux, |
