Music library manager

I'm looking for a music manager that has similar functionality to iTunes in terms of music and podcast management. I like the Internet sources support that Amarok has, but the way it lumps everything into 'local collection' doesn't work for me. I'd like the manager to have more fine-grained organization of the music and podcasts.

I'm using Slackware 14 64bit without multi-lib.

I installed Miro but it just runs so poorly I don't find it usable. Banshee has too many dependencies, I'd like it to be a somewhat quick install.

I'm making my way through the media players on http://alternativeto.net/software/it...platform=linux but would like to know what you guys are using.

Using Audacious 3.2.4 here, rebuilt from source with a few different build options.

Here's what it looks like (scroll down the page a little):

http://www.microlinux.fr/desktop_linux_multimedia.php

I've been a KDE/Amarok user until this summer, but I ended up getting tired of the little bugs here and there, with Amarok having me regularly force-rebuild my collection and everything.

Before that, I've been a die-hard XMMS user for about ten years, but nowadays, its GTK1 interface seems anachronistic like an East German prison. I've regularly tested Audacious, but first versions were quite horribly buggy and segfaulted all the time. This version is now rock-solid and has a nice set of features. Plus, it's built to play about every audio format under the sun. I can only recommend it.

Cheers,

Niki

Another alternative would be Banshee. Packages are in my signature.

+1 for Clementine, been using it since I discovered it's existence a couple of years ago, in both my personal (Slackware) and work (Windows XP) machines
